Chilli oil is one of the easiest ways to add flavour quickly.
It’s also one of the products people come back for most at Peak & The Pantry - especially the Sichuan chilli oil. Once people start using it, it tends to end up on far more than they expected.
Eggs, noodles, roasted vegetables, rice bowls, pizza - we’ve even had customers putting it on vanilla ice cream.
That’s usually the sign of a good chilli oil. It quietly becomes the thing you reach for without thinking.
Here are three of the easiest ways to use it.
1. Eggs & Chilli Oil
This is probably where most chilli oil obsessions begin.
Fried eggs, scrambled eggs or soft-boiled eggs finished with a spoonful of chilli oil instantly feel more interesting with almost no extra effort involved.
Serve on toast, add avocado if you have it, and suddenly breakfast feels properly put together.
The richness of the egg and the heat from the oil balance each other perfectly, especially when the chilli oil has crunch and texture alongside the heat.

2. Noodles in About 10 Minutes
This is one of those dinners that works even when there’s almost nothing in the fridge.
Cook noodles, drain them, then toss with chilli oil, soy sauce and a splash of vinegar while everything is still hot.
That alone is already good.
Then add whatever else happens to be around:
- a fried egg
- leftover chicken
- spring onions
- greens
- crispy onions
The chilli oil becomes the sauce, which is exactly why it’s such a useful cupboard ingredient.
3. Spoon It Over Everything Else
This is usually the stage people reach once the jar’s properly open.
A spoonful of chilli oil works on far more than people expect:
- rice bowls
- roasted vegetables
- pizza
- tinned fish
- soups
- dumplings
- avocado toast
Even very simple food suddenly feels more complete with a bit of heat, crunch and richness added on top.
And realistically, once it’s in the fridge, it ends up finding its way onto almost everything eventually anyway.

Keep It Simple
You really don’t need complicated recipes for chilli oil to work.
