Beef Pad Krapow | Spicy Thai Beef | Crispy Fried

Kra Pao, also known as Pad Kra Pao or Thai Basil Stir-Fry, is a popular Thai street food dish known for its bold flavors and aromatic Thai holy basil. It typically consists of minced meat (such as chicken, pork, or beef) stir-fried with garlic, chilli and Thai basil leaves - topped with a fried egg.

Ingredients

  • 300g diced or minced chicken/beef

  • 300g mixed veg, stir-fry for 8-10 minutes. (I like to use green beans, cut into 1 cm)

  • 1 Jar Payst Kra Pao Sauce

  • 1 handful of Thai basil leaves, stir-fry until all is mixed.

Serve with rice. Garnish with sliced birdseye chillies and a fried egg.

Method

  1. Add the diced or minced chicken/beef to hot oil in a wok.

  2. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.

  3. Add mixed veg, stir-fry for 8-10 minutes.

  4. Add Payst Kra Pao Sauce and 1 handful of Thai basil leaves, stir-fry until all is mixed.

Note: You can customize the level of spiciness by adjusting the amount of chilli, the sauce is medium spiced and if you like the kick of chillies (add red chillies for a good heat, birdseye for searing heat).
