Discover Folkstone In 24 Hours | Where To Stay | Eat and Drink

Folkestone is a coastal town located in Kent, England, known for its charming harbour, artistic atmosphere, and stunning views of the English Channel. Folkstone was never really on my radar but after spending a few days in Deal I wanted to try Rocksalt as a birthday treat for my husband.

As we were only there for the night, I booked a room and table at Rocksalt, which sits right on the harbour.

After checking in we went for a stroll along the Folkestone Harbour Arm. This refurbished pier offers fantastic views of the coastline, and you can find various food and drink options to enjoy, including seafood, craft beer, and ice cream. We arrived off-season but will definitely go back once the season is in full swing.

We had pre dinner drinks in the cosy The Harbour Inn it is a stones throw away from Folkestone's Harbour and serves up local fish and local beers.

Folkestone's stunning harbourfront restaurant with excellent seafood & unrivalled views of the Channel, Rocksalt is the perfect little seaside bolthole.

We ordered Hot Shells with Fish Velouté which is a combination of clams, mussels and prawns on the shell and sea greens (it should have come with oysters but they did not have any so we got extra prawns) Followed by Gypsy tart and lemon sorbet.

After dinner we went upstairs to the bar/terrace which captures the phenomenal views.

Before bed I checked the time for sunrise, 5.22! jees! I am so glad I set the alarm, it was a little eerie but worth every second of it and I did get to met the dustman.
