Chilli Con Carne Recipe Kit
Campfire Chilli Con Carne with Pink Pickled Onions By Peak & The Pantry
Whether you’re cooking over a fire, on the hob, or just need a properly good bowl of chilli, this Campfire Chilli Seasoning Kit makes it easy. I make this blend in small batches, toasting whole spices and carefully balancing smoky, sweet, and warming heat. It’s the kind of flavour that builds in layers, giving you a rich, deeply satisfying chilli without loads of effort.
Designed for batch cooking and slow simmering, this seasoning kit helps you get ahead for the week or feed a crowd. There’s also a little extra twist – I’ve included pickling salt so you can make pink pickled onions to cut through the richness.
What’s Inside?
Toasted spice blend with ancho, guajillo chipotle chillies for depth
Carefully balanced seasoning – no need to measure or guess
Pickling salt to make ahead pink pickled onions for a fresh contrast
Easy-to-follow recipe– just cook, stir, and enjoy
Recipe serves 4 (2 portions per pack)
More Ways to Use It:
Chilli con carne – slow-cooked, flavour-packed, and perfect for batch cooking
Vegetarian chilli – works beautifully with black beans, lentils, or squash
Chilli Seasoning: Chipotle flakes, ancho flakes, pasilla flakes, sea salt, smoked paprika, Mexican oregano, cumin, coriander (plus x2 Chile de Arbol for that extra kick, if needed)
Pink Onion Seasoning: Guajillo chilli flakes, sea salt, Mexican oregano
Allergy Advice: Made in a kitchen that handles: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin peanuts, soybeans, milk, nuts, celery molluscs, mustard, sesame, sulphites
Storage: Store in a cool dry place
Is it spicy?
It’s got a gentle warmth rather than overpowering heat, thanks to the smoky ancho and chipotle chillies. If you want it hotter we have added chilli de arbol for that extra kick
Do I need to add anything else?
Yep! You’ll need your protein of choice (beef, pork, beans, or mushrooms), tomatoes, and stock. Fresh toppings like pickled onions, coriander, and sour cream take it to the next level. Check out the Chilli Con Carne Recipe
Can I make this vegetarian or vegan?
Absolutely! Swap the meat for black beans, squash, sweet potato, or jackfruit – the seasoning blend works just as well.
What else can I serve the Chilli Con Carne with?
Anything! It is so versatile, serve it onto on a jacket potato, tortilla chips, fries for the ultimate dirty fries and top with all your favourites, pink pickled onions, sour cream, salsa, cheese, jalapenos - make it your way
Is this good for meal prep?
Yes! Make a big batch and freeze portions so you’ve got chilli ready whenever you need it.
